exhibits enhanced disease susceptibility to the virulent bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv maculicola ES4326; also susceptible to the distantly related P. aeruginosa UCBPP-PA14; unable to activate pathogenesis-related PR-1 gene expression after pathogen attack; no defects in the hypersensitive response (HR); and exhibits at least a partial systemic acquired resistance (SAR) response.
